Since my treatments, the walker is over. The MRI shows that my bulging disc and herniated disc are completely gone.

As a forestry equipment operator since my youth, I began to feel, with forty years of work, severe pains in my lower back, knee, ankle and calf (burn), caused by an injury to three lumbar discs, a discarthrosis, a bulging and a herniated disc associated with a bilateral foraminal decrease / narrowing.

I had a herniated disc and two in the process of becoming one (bulges). I could hardly sleep, walk or sit. In the middle of a meal, I had to get up and walk. The pain in my leg was intolerable. I cried when I couldn’t take it anymore!

On July 9, 2013, an MRI showed that the cause of my pain was a circumferential disc bulge and a left posterolateral and foraminal protrusion in L5-S1. It was then that I made the decision to follow the 20 treatments (from August 19 to September 25, 2013) that were suggested to me at the HERNIE DISCALE Clinic.

For years I suffered from sciatic nerve pain, back pain and numbness in my right leg.

I tried everything: osteopathy, massage therapy and my doctor referred me to physiotherapy. Everything was without success for my spine.

I had a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and the result showed, among other things:

L5-S1 : disc spreading and herniated disc. L4-L5 : spinal and foraminal stenosis, degeneration and facet arthrosis, discal spreading and antelisthesis. L3-L4 : pinching with disc spreading, facetary arthrosis, foraminal stenosis with facetary hypertrophy. L2-L3 : disc bulging and foraminal stenosis.

The end of a calvary. And he’s avoiding surgery!

My ordeal began in 1998 following a snowboard fall. Having already had a car accident at the age of nine when several lumbar vertebrae were fractured, leaving me unable to move for more than three months, I must say that my spine was already in a sorry state. Until 1998, I still managed to do well. Like many, I felt some pain from time to time, but nothing to stop me from working or enjoying my hobbies. But in March 1998, this fall awakened a terrible pain radiating in the buttock and left leg. MRIs, cortisone infiltrations, more and more powerful painkillers, prolonged absences from work and for quality of life follow one another, I don’t even dare talk about it anymore. I spent my nights in my chair watching movies at Super Écran, writhing in pain.

After several medical consultations, orthopaedists, neurosurgeons, physiotherapists, all come to the conclusion that surgery is my last resort. This operation is not 100% guaranteed and of course represents all the risks involved: infection, rejection, permanent paralysis, etc.. Nothing reassuring.

Having seen an advertisement on TV, I informed myself on the internet and I decided to make an appointment with the HERNIE DISCALE Clinic. I thought the costs were pretty high. But if I compare it to the amount I paid for a snowmobile, motorcycle, ATV, cruise or whatever, I thought why not invest in my health and make a profit afterwards. Of course, I had some doubts in my mind, but I said to myself: “If it works, there is no price to start living again”. I had nothing more to lose…

At my first appointment, after the evaluation of my x-rays, the doctor comes to the conclusion that there is something to do for me. The further I went in the process, the better I was. I was able to eliminate several medications that caused unwanted side effects. Little by little, I started to walk good distances again, sleep in my bed and find day after day a quality of life that I did not hope any more. I started my work back gradually in October 2010 and full time since November 2010 without taking a single day of illness because of my back. Caused by a herniated disc and osteoarthritis, he ended seven years of numbness in his leg, extending from his lower back to his foot.

I am 71 years old and I have worked as a lumberjack; in my work, there have been many incidents. I gradually developed pain in my lower back and right leg, accompanied by numbness from the lower back to the foot included; it was as if the sciatic nerve was too short; ninety minutes seated and I had to go to bed; I could no longer force myself and walked in slow motion, because just putting my two feet on the ground increased the pain.

After suffering for more than four years, from a terrible pain on my right side of my back that prevented me from sleeping in the same position for more than 20 to 25 minutes. Changing positions was unbearable. I met three different doctors giving me three different diagnoses and accompanied by an anti-inflammatory prescription to always come back with the same ever increasing pain.
